Los Angeles, CA (December 16, 2024) — Happened in the heart of Arts District, ASTOUD and EMPATH came together to redefine the traditional holiday popup. Emily Arakawa, the visionary behind EMPATH’s designs, transformed the Arts District space into her signature contemporary minimalism.
The curated lineup featured emerging local designers and global influences, showcasing brands like Rockii Studios, Mew Swim, Ru by Rupal, and Minx alongside EMPATH’s capsule collection. ASTOUD, known as the first global retailer dedicated to Vietnamese fashion, brought its standout roster of designers, including Latui Atelier, a leading name in grunge, and The Idiot, a beloved East Asian favorite.
True to ASTOUD’s ethos of crafting multi-sensory cultural experiences, the event went beyond fashion. Guests enjoyed jasmine boba from Elno Teashop and vibrant Taiwanese fruit teas from KACE TEA, while artist Noon Nguyen’s Jadesky offered a menu of Vietnamese dishes, including bánh khọt mini and mì xào. Handmade Viet coconut wax candles by Sạch Goods added an intimate, artisanal touch to the shopping experience.
The collaboration between ASTOUD and EMPATH reflects our shared ethos: a commitment to storytelling, self-expression, and community building. Both brands have been redefining our respective spaces—ASTOUD as a bridge for Vietnamese fashion to reach global audiences and EMPATH as a platform for subversive design.
